Cradehall Primary School Logo

Cradlehall Primary School, Inverness

Located in Inverness, highlands of Scotland, Cradlehall Primary School is surrounded by multiple green spaces. As you stand on the grounds, you have a view of the amazing Moray Firth. The school has already been involved in significant projects that have created a green welcoming space for children to learn in. As children explore the school grounds, they have access to open grass spaces, an Eco garden, a polytunnel, and a small friendship garden. Children engage in regular activities such as composting, recycling and other nature-oriented activities. Cradlehall Primary School is excited to be part of the project as this gives the community an opportunity to build on their already strong vision of learning with and in nature.

West Primary School Logo

West Primary School, Paisley

West Primary is a large, urban, non-denominational school housed in a building which dates from 1939. The school serves a diverse socio-economic and multi cultural community. We have very good space for learning within the building, which staff work hard to enhance with displays of children’s work. We make the most of the outdoor space, with a variety of play equipment including two trim-trails, an outdoor gym and a garden which pupils regularly access. On our doorstep, we have a rich cultural heritage, which we frequently utilise for learning. Our current roll is 408 pupils including an early learning and childcare class of 32 children and flexible learning space, which supports pupils from across the authority who have additional support needs.

Affectionately known as ‘West is the Best’, West Primary School is based in the West End of Paisley with communities and parks nearby. Offering Gaelic Medium Education (GME) and a playground with squirrels, leaves, and colours, the school is always buzzing with exciting activities. School staff take great pride in the community they have created over the years: supporting children’s home languages, building a polytunnel and a front garden, refurbishing internal and external school spaces, authoring their own magazine and offering an extensive range of extra curricular school clubs. By joining the project, the school is looking to enhance their support to their learners, recognising the importance of developing further connections between children’s multilingual backgrounds and their immediate natural environment.
